30,000 sq. ft. | 85% Refurbished + Certified Pre-Owned

When CABI set out to create their new 30,000-square-foot workplace in San Francisco, they had two clear goals: deliver a space that looked and felt premium, while staying smart with their budget.

Envirotech partnered with Kardent DesignVVA, and real estate advisor Tyler Thurlow, Senior Director at L.A. Realty Partners, to bring that vision to life—proving that sustainability and style don’t have to come at a premium price.

Nearly 85% of the furnishings were refurbished or certified pre-owned, creating a stunning, design-led environment at a fraction of the cost of new.

The Opportunity

CABI’s team was focused on value and design integrity from the start.

“The concept of repurposing pre-owned furniture and the reduced overall capital expenditure made Envirotech an easy recommendation.”

— Tyler Thurlow, Senior Director, L.A. Realty Partners

By bringing Envirotech into the process early, the team was able to align sustainability, design intent, and cost efficiency—without compromise.

Execution

Led by Shaunna Pudlis, Envirotech managed the process from planning to installation with precision and transparency.

“Envirotech and Shaunna were extremely responsive and professional throughout. They communicated every step clearly to both myself and my client.”

To ensure the furniture met CABI’s expectations, the team toured an Envirotech decommission site to hand-select refurbished pieces. Seeing the quality firsthand helped shift perceptions—proving that remanufactured and pre-owned furniture can rival new in both performance and appearance.

Results

The finished workplace is a testament to what circular design can achieve. CABI’s new space blends thoughtful design, sustainability, and cost efficiency seamlessly.

Project Highlights:

  • 85% refurbished and certified pre-owned furniture
  • Major cost savings versus new
  • Design-led delivery with zero compromise on quality

“The client was very positive about the quality and the price point compared to brand new furniture.”

“Good quality furniture at a fraction of the cost—it’s hard to beat.”

Sustainability with Style

While cost savings were the original driver, sustainability became an unexpected bonus—perfectly aligning with CABI’s corporate values.

“It was an extra benefit associated with dealing with Envirotech.”

By reusing existing materials and reducing the need for new manufacturing, the project avoided significant carbon emissions—showcasing what modern, circular design can look like in practice.

The Takeaway

“It was my first time working with a company that integrates second-life and remanufactured products, and it felt no different than traditional procurement—just better value. The combination of professional service, environmental responsibility, and sharp pricing makes Envirotech an easy referral.”

CABI’s San Francisco project is proof that sustainable design doesn’t have to feel different—it just makes more sense.
