The Story of Our Remanufactured Office Chairs [video]

Tired, worn out and no longer in style, these quality office chairs now must be set aside. Maybe they are no longer needed because you are downsizing your office real estate due to new flexible hours at the office.  Maybe it is just time to redecorate the office and the current fabric doesn’t fit into the new design.  Whatever the reason, the new office chairs that you invested in a few years back no longer have a place at your office, and now you aren’t sure what to do with them.  In years past, these used chairs were sent to the landfill without a second thought, but with environmental concerns, and landfill dumping costs, this causes you now to look for other options.

At Envirotech we welcome old, tired quality office chairs and give them new life!

Our teams work with companies to help evaluate the current asset value of their used furniture. Then we help our clients find the best removal solution to offer the greatest return on their investment;  always considering environmentally friendly options.   One solution is often to bring the used chairs to our facility where they can then be remanufactured, and resold back into the marketplace in a ‘better-than-new’ condition.

In the video below we show you the life of a remanufactured chair.  

The used chair, once a fine piece of new office furniture, arrives at our manufacturing facility. From the time it arrives on the truck, it is treated with care as we take it through the various steps to give this old chair new life.  

It is important to make sure a chair can easily be adjusted to the person’s height, as well as have the ability to move freely as to optimize ergonomics while seated at their workstation. Our remanufacturing team gives each chair a through cleaning, as well as, some lubrication to moving metal parts.  Any missing or damaged parts are fixed or replaced.  

Now for the finishing touch!  

A variety of current designer fabrics are available for our clients to choose the colour and style that best suits their office design; almost guaranteeing that even years down the road they can add more product that looks exactly the same.  The chair in our video is being covered with a standard black fabric that is also available. Black fabric fits well with most designs, cost-effective, and a shorter lead time for delivery compared to some of our custom fabrics. 

Remanufactured chairs can be delivered in 2-3 weeks compared to new chairs that often take 4-6 weeks!
