At Envirotech, we hold wellness in the workplace close to heart. We pride ourselves on being an industry leader when it comes to designing and creating office spaces that foster employee wellness.
Those values are core to our business, and are carried out by the team we have established. Recently, our Architecture & Design Manager, Andy Delisi became one of Canada’s first FitWel Ambassadors. FitWel is a unique certification standard that strives to improve the health and productivity of building occupants through enhancements to workplace design and enforceable policies.
The Scorecard uses 12 sections to measure health:
- Location
- Building Access
- Outdoor Spaces
- Entrances & Ground Floors
- Stairwells
- Indoor Environments
- Workspaces
- Shared Spaces
- Water Supply
- Cafeterias & Prepared Food Retail
- Vending Machines & Snack Bars
- Emergency Procedures
Each of these sections will receive a score that combines to form an either 1, 2 or 3 star rating. Occupants should strive for a 3 star rating, which means that the building incorporates a high number of evidence-based design and policy strategies that support mental, physical and social health of all occupants.
Eager to get involved, we have already completed an office design which made Integral Group’s Toronto office the first FitWel certified office in Canada. We modelled our design with the certification in mind, striving to create an office that is designed with user wellbeing and productivity in mind.
